Call for Proposals for Presentations, Papers, and Poster Sessions

Session Types

Paper or presentations format: These sessions will explore an area of interest related to the conference theme and of interest to conference attendees. Presentations usually illuminate the nuances of implementing invitational practices in a variety of environments. Presentations may include demonstrations or working sessions where attendees share practical strategies related to the presentation topic. Presentations may also be in a scholarly format, where a formal paper is prepared and presented.

Poster session: Poster sessions illustrate a broad variety of topics. Sponsors display their posters are available during stated time-periods for discussion. Posters are informal and permit involved contact with conference attendees. Posters mounted on hinged poster board that comes in three sections and stands upright on a table is most common. Poster boards are usually about 30" - 40" high and two may be set up beside one another on a table.

Posters must be free-standing and not attached to walls.
The entire display may not exceed a height of 48 and length of 72.

Session length:

Papers and presentations are generally scheduled for 60-75 minutes and may include a number of presenters. Papers and Presentations sessions may supply their own critic/host to facilitate attendee participation.
Posters are generally on display for an extended period of time. Certain time-periods are scheduled for poster sponsors to be available for questions and discussion. Inviting School Award Winners are encouraged to develop a poster session or a formal presentation.

Submission:

The deadline for submissions is June 15, 2008 for proposals to receive full consideration. Submissions may be made via email attachment (preferred) or by US Post. This form can be downloaded from the Invitational Education website (www.invitiationeducation.net). All proposals submitted via email should include IAIE Conference Proposal in the subject line to assist in identifying submissions. You will receive an email acknowledgement or a mailed receipt within two weeks.

Committee Review

Reviews of submitted proposals will be ongoing by the committee. Selected presenters and poster sponsors will be notified as the committee reaches decisions. All proposal submissions will receive a notice of the decision and, if accepted, information about the schedule of their presentation or poster session.
