- The National Women’s Hall of Fame at Seneca Falls is 45 minutes away. This is where the first National Women’s Rights Convention was held in 1848. The Hall is home to exhibits, artifacts of historical interest and a research library.
- The New York State Wine and Culinary Center located in nearby Canandaigua, which opened in 2006, provides an engaging, educational, and experiential celebration of New York food and wine.
- Sonnenberg Gardens Mansion State Historical Park, also located in nearby Canandaigua, is one of the most extensively preserved country estates to survive the late Victorian Age in America. The grounds include a 40 room Queen Anne Style mansion and 50 acres of gardens.
- The Jell-O Gallery, located 30 miles west of Rochester in LeRoy, holds the 100 year history of Jell-O.
- Wine Tours at various vineyards in the area give a strong flavor of the Finger Lakes area, the second largest wine producing area in the United States.
- Autumn cruises on the Erie Canal, or any one of the nearby Finger Lakes are readily available to those interested in sightseeing from the water.
- The Hill Cumorah- Mormon Historical Sights, associated with the founding of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons), are open to the public and are located about 30 minutes southeast of Rochester.
- The Corning Museum of Glass, offering the world’s best collection of art and historical glass and tracing 3,500 years of glassmaking history, is in nearby Corning, New York.
- Ganondagon State Historic Site, located in nearby Victor, New York, offers miles of self-guided trails and opportunity to learn about the workings of the Native American Community of the Seneca. Thousands of Seneca thrived 300 years ago on this site, which boasts a full-size replica of a 17th century Seneca Bark Longhouse.
- Genesee Country Village and Museum, located in nearby Mumford, opens 68 historic structures in a vision of mid 19th century American life. The museum is the largest living history museum in New York State and the third largest in the country. The John L. Wehle Gallery of Wildlife and Sporting Art, on premises, is home to an art collection labeled by Wildlife Art Magazine as “one of the finest in the world.”
- Niagara Falls, one of the wonders of the world, will be an optional trip planned on the day before or the day after the conference. Enjoy the sights on the American side of the falls an hour and a half by bus from Rochester.
