The National Dropout Prevention Center/Network Newsletter

V. 19, No. 4, (April, 2008) highlighted some of the major lessons learned from results of its research study on dropout risk factors. It concluded that a "General dislike of school is one of the primary indicators of low commitment to school that has been linked to school dropout."

This finding and conclusion comes as no surprise to members and friends of IAIE. For over 25 years, proponents of Invitational Education® have been advocating for educational environments where all students feel welcome and invited to succeed. The assumptions and principles of Invitational Education support the mission to create, maintain, and enhance truly welcoming and caring schools.
